SGA Kinkmeme now on Pinboard!

As you might have heard, Delicious has been sold. The new owners rolled out their version last week and it's very broken. While they are fixing some of the problems, there's no indication how long it will take or if they'll even fix some of the features we use.

We looked at moving to Diigo, but they automatically make tags using "bad/inappropriate words" private, so we decided on Pinboard. If Delicious gets their act together, we'll start updating on both services.

We've imported the bookmarks from Delicious and now we're going through ALL the bookmarks and fixing the tags messed up by Delicious. If you find some weird tags on a prompt, it just means we haven't gotten to that prompt yet.

We've also added a new tag that some of you might find useful. If you see a prompt tagged with "seconded" it means that someone seconded the prompt. So, if you're looking for prompts to fill and want to see the more popular prompts, that's the tag for you.

If you know of a prompt or fill that isn't bookmarked at Pinboard, please comment to this post with a link to to the prompt or fill and we'll make sure it gets added.

Two Week Fill-A-Thon!

As a run up to NaNoWriMo, or just as something for those of you who want to get a little writing in before the holiday fic fest season is really upon us, we're going to do a Fill-A-Thon here on SGA Kinkmeme for the next two weeks--October 17 through October 31

What we're doing is shutting down prompting and encouraging people to dig through the prompts from any of the prompt posts or, if you prefer, you can go through the prompts on the Kinkmeme's Delicious account and fill them.

Change in Posting Procedures!

After some discussion among the mods, we've decided to change the way the Kinkmeme posting works. From now on, the Kinkmeme will be run much more like other kinkmemes--open for both prompts and fills 24/7. That's right, no more prompt/fill schedule; now it's all kink, all the time! We will be running one post on LJ and one on DW, however prompts and fills for both will still be tagged in the same Delicious account.

So, feel free to dive in and add new prompts to the new post and fill as many as you like, as often as you like. Also, you're welcome to go back and fill prompts on older prompt posts.

Please pimp the meme! We have 41 banners in a huge array of characters and pairings and characters (including Atlantis!) for you to choose from.

If you have any questions, please as them here or PM the mod account.

We are live, with a Post #3 open for prompts on Livejournal. Prompts of any variety are welcome - any character, pairing, threesome, or moresome, gen, RPF, crossovers with other Stargate properties and actors' other roles. Any kink is welcome - sexual, emotional, physical, narrative - anything you can come up with. Please post prompts for the next week.

Starting August 28th, we will accept fills. We accept fills of any variety too - fic, art, fanmixes, poetry, comics, knitted items, recs, icons, jewelry... if you can think it up, you can respond to the prompt with it.

We wish to apologize for the confusion and hurt feelings that some of our actions have caused. In trying to prevent hurt feelings, we stepped on other peoples', and that is neither fair nor right.

We have made some changes in the way that the mods are going to handle prompts - one mod will no longer be able to make the decision to screen. Instead it will have to be discussed and agreed upon by all the mods, and everyone who is screened will be given the opportunity to rephrase their prompt.

The only things that we believe should be off limits as kink are: race, color, ethnicity, sexual identity or gender identity. Your prompt can include them, they just can't be the point of the kink.

One last note - IP logging has been turned on temporarily. Someone has been advertising in the community, and as soon as we have their IP address to block, we'll turn it back off. We are tracking for no other reason.

We created this meme with the purpose of having fun and producing an outlet for ideas and creativity that was free and open while still being enjoyable to everyone. We are still dedicated to this goal and we hope that we succeed better in the future.

We've made some changes around here according to user suggestions, and we thought maybe we should talk a little about operations and rules before the second prompt post goes live on Dreamwidth tonight at midnight.

If you haven't done so, feel free to claim your fills on the first post, post them elsewhere, and pimp them to SGA communities!

Please pimp the meme as well, there are gorgeous banners here by several different artists. If your character/pairing/kink isn't represented, please consider making or bribing artistic friends to make a banner for the comm! We will happily post it.

Welcome to the SGA Kink meme!

We have a four week schedule, like so:

Week 1: Prompting - any kink (emotional or physical) is allowed, and prompts can be anonymous or not.
Weeks 2 and 3: Prompt filling - fills can be anonymous or under your journal name, whichever you prefer.
Week 4: We rest! If you like, you can claim your story during this week if you posted anonymously during weeks 2-3.

Then we start all over again, with a new post and prompt call.

Since we couldn't decide whether to host it on Livejournal or Dreamwidth, we're going to alternate sessions for now. That way if you prefer one journal over the other, you can still play (and it gives the mods and taggers some breathing room). We'll get the ball rolling on the Livejournal community on Monday, June 28th, 2010.

The community on Livejournal is here, the community at Dreamwidth is here. If it works out that one comm gets significantly more activity than the other, we will revisit the issue.

Rules are here. Please read them thoroughly and carefully; your help in keeping the community civil and keeping things organized is invaluable.

Please consider contributing! Some ways to contribute include commenting frequently, giving anonymous beta, helping other mice, helping the mods, and of course, posting and filling prompts. All can be done anon.

Need inspiration for prompts or to know more about a particular kink? kink_wiki is a great source for kinks, thank you very much to the kink_bingo mods for their time and effort in putting it together.

One prompt per comment.
Please use the correct format (details below). This will help with tagging.
Your prompt can be as detailed or as simple as you like.
Any kink goes: sexual, emotional, or random.
Any character or pairing goes. Single characters, pairings, threesomes or moresomes.
Any rating or type of fill is welcome. Gen, het, slash, femslash, masturbation, and anything else we haven't listed here.
RPF is welcome.
Crossovers with other Stargate properties (SG1 and Stargate: Universe) are fine, as long as they have at least one character from Stargate: Atlantis.
Crossovers between Stargate: Atlantis characters, and characters played by Stargate: Atlantis actors are acceptable as long as at least one character is from Stargate: Atlantis. [CROSSOVER, Rodney/Emmett (Boa vs. Python), caning] is fine. [CROSSOVER, Emmett/Julian (Boa vs Python and First Monday), foreign languages] is not.
If you make a mistake or wish to clarify a prompt, please notify the mods and re-post it. We'll delete the old one.

Alphabetize characters/pairings/moresomes. [Elizabeth/Kate, hand fetish]
Don't add titles before a character's name ("Colonel," "Doctor," etc.).
No name? Use 'Everyone,' 'Any,' 'Any Female,' or 'Any Male' [Kate/Any Female, clit clamp with bell]
Please put the '!' in the description, not the pairing. [John/Rodney/Larrin, dom!Larrin, smug!Rodney and inexperienced/virgin!John]
Groups (like Wraith) go after the named character. [Teyla/Wraith, guessing game]
Crossover characters (whether SG1, SGU or other roles) go after the named character. [CROSSOVER, GEN, Jennifer, Teal'c, SG1, stitches]
Put 'RPF' before RPF prompts. [RPF, Jason/Joe, safe sex]
For crossover prompts: 'CROSSOVER, Stargate: Atlantis Character(s)/Other Character(s), fandom, kink' [CROSSOVER, Laura/Daniel, SG1, showering together]
Gen should say "GEN" in addition to listing the important characters in your story, separated by a comma. [GEN, Ronon, Teyla, trust]
We will be doing theme months, too, so there will be times when you can do fusions or complete crossovers or just RPF or who knows what else!

Respect other posters' anonymity. Do not ask anyone to reveal themselves.
Don't pester creators of WIP about updates or the direction their work is taking.
Critical analysis has its place, but will get lost on the meme. Please take it the discussion post.
No Bashing!

Do not bash characters, pairings, or real people, whether individuals or groups, and whether they're connected with Stargate: Atlantis or not.
Bashing includes:

Replying to a prompt or a fill with emoticons like D: or ;_; or </3
Name-calling
Blatant stereotyping
"Your kink is not ok."
Statements intended to belittle a person, group, or idea
Rumor-mongering

People and pairing bashing does not include:

Honest, thoughtful discussion of sensitive issues
Disagreeing politely about a point of fact
Disagreeing politely about a point of opinion

Report bashing to the mods. Please don't engage the poster.
Report trolls, rather than feeding them.
